16.2hh 6 year old bay thoughbred gelding for long term/permanent loan as companion/light hack. Wonnabe is a lovely natured horse who I adopted after retiring from racing, however he has developed lymphangitus in one of his hind legs and therefore is only able to be walked and trotted, this may improve with time but he will never be 100% and therefore only suitable for someone who just wants to go for a quiet hack. He needs to be exercised and turned out as often as possible to keep the swelling down and unfortunately I don?t have enough time to ride as often as he needs with work commitments and another horse. He is a really sweet horse with good manners, excellent in traffic, good to shoe, box and clip, comes to call. Good with mares and geldings, never fights in the field (he doesnt like to be stabled/turned out alone so must have at least 1 other horse with him). Although he is generally quiet he is still a young thoroughbred and can be excitable at times so therefore I only let him go to an experienced home as he needs a competent rider. He just needs someone with enough time to offer him and who is willing to take on his daily care routine for his leg (which is minimal) in return for a very affectionate and willing horse who can offer the right person an enjoyable hack for life. This has been a very hard decision as he is very much loved by everyone so serious enquirers only please. Would prefer him to stay in the local area. I am happy for potential homes to speak with my vet regarding his lymphangitis.
