Lewis came to us about a month ago. We saw him in a field looking half starved and felt we just couldn't leave him there. We managed to buy him and brought him home. After a few weeks of TLC and a good wormer, Lewis has improved no end and we have even ridden him out quietly on the roads. Lewis is now beginning to show us his true personality which is a lovely gentle sweet boy who craves affection. He has proved to be bomb proof in traffic and a very quiet horse to ride. If we could, we would keep Lewis forever but I bought him with my heart rather than my head and we just have too many horses already to justify another. We were told he used to be owned and ridden by an eighty five year old man which we can believe to be true as he is just so easy to do and safe to ride. Lewis has had a very hard life in his short 8 years of life and has been used in harness racing where he was hobbled and made to pace. When being ridden Lewis does sometimes start to pace which does feel a bit like riding a camel but is very easy to sit to and he soon breaks out of it and back into a normal trot. The home we would like for Lewis is someone looking for a quiet hack to take out around the lanes and countryside. Although he is still young he needs someone who understands he really wants a forever home. Lewis has so much to give, he may never be a top class event horse but he will be a fantastic best friend for even the most nervous of riders. Please no timewasters.
